The Panasonic KX-TAW848 Telephone System is designed specifically for use in the home and small office. The Panasonic system provides space for up to 8 incoming phone lines, 24 wired extensions and 28 cordless extensions, and traditional door bells and intercom systems.
With this design, everyone gets their own phone. Whether it is a traditional wired telephone or a sleek and small wireless handset, using station to station dialing makes it easy to let everyone know that dinner is on the table. The system supports private station to station calls as well as a system page feature that allows you to page all extensions at the same time.
Another great feature of this telephone system is when someone comes to the door, instead of ringing a traditional door bell; they press a button on an exterior door phone. At that point, the telephone systems rings some or all of the extensions in the home and sends a message to the automation system. If the exterior lights are off, the Automation system instantly lights the front door area, if a front door camera is installed, selected televisions can turn on to show who is at the door. Any extension is the home can then ‘answer’ the door and talk to whoever is at the door without having to physically answer the door.
An additional benefit of the telephone system is your ability to control when and which telephone rings. The children’s phone line can route directly to their room while the office line only rings the office. All other calls can ring the entire home. After a certain time, say 10:00pm for example, you can set the phone system to only ring 1 or 2 extensions rather than waking the entire home.
